Fashion is transient and our wardrobe change frequently. It is a fact that a good number of clothes what we own are not used at all. Spoyl is a new and easy way to buy and sell pre-owned apparel and accessories from your mobile and help people own (and sell) relevant fashion at affordable prices. I would call this Fast Refresh Fashion (FRF).
Story of Spoyl:
This past week, a silicon valley returned software professional (it’s certainly the wave right now), Bhargav Errangi along with his colleague Sumit Agarwal, launched Spoyl , an iPhone (iOS link ) and Android (link )
You can shop and sell items individually through the app or through Spoyl’s concierge service, where they pick-up your clothing items from your doorstep. To list an item, you need only snap a photo or two with your phone, and add category, pricing, and a few other item details. They claim it is as easy as a pie and takes literally 60 seconds or less for uploading one item. Items then go through a rigorous curation process before getting listed up for sale on Spoyl’s platform.
If an item gets sold, Spoyl’s logistics team will pick-up the product from sellers and sanitize/dry-clean the product before delivering it to the buyer. Buyers can even chat with the seller through Spoyl’s customized chat platform before purchasing a product. I think it’s a cool feature to be aware of all the details of the item before buying it, or bargain the price, especially with pre-owned apparel.
If you are a seller, there’s no listing fee, but Spoyl will take a (15%*) cut that includes the cost of shipping, sanitization logistics, and customer support. The company will intermediate if there are issues with a product and settle the claim if the buyers find issues with the delivered product.
So, why wait all you fashion lovers, turn your closet into a cash machine by selling all your pre-loved clothes and shop all your favorite brands up to 70% off retail. I even saw brands which are not available in any other online store.
I have personally played around with the app and found it easier to list items on Spoyl than other C2C marketplaces. I listed two of my clothes one Benetton T Shirt and a Zara Shirt just 2 days back. Got an order just now for my Zara shirt. What was lying unused for many weeks is now encashed and I will buy a new item soon
You may try the app and share your experience.
With mobile in the hand of every Indian soon, opportunities are immense and consumers will get everything in their finger tips. I would have never imagined that such a service would be available that too in our door steps just a few years back.
Go Spoyl yourself !!
